What is an espadrille

A shoe with centuries of history and a sole made of fiber.

The espadrille was born around the Mediterranean as a working shoe: a braided plant-fiber sole and a light fabric upper. Its name comes from the Catalan “espardenya”, from “espart”, the fiber it was woven from.

Today it keeps the same craft, now in leather, linen, suede and endless colors. It is a comfortable, artisan summer shoe, perfect for the Guanacaste climate.
